Q: When submissions are read by potential buyers, how does GayLinkContent.com help authors ensure credit and/or compensation for their original content, even if the piece is not purchased?
I'd like to find a way to expand my syndication base, but have already had problems with publications using my
column without payment or permission. Do you have any method of keeping track of who uses the content that your authors post?
A: If you post content anywhere, both online or in a print publication, you run the same risk of someone using your content without your permission. By posting your copyright information at the bottom of each story you post, you are at least taking the first step in ensuring your content is legally protected.
We do not have any means of tracking down or legally pursuing someone who takes content from our site without permission. So far, we have been very fortunate to have worked with a wide variety of reputable publications and websites who gladly pay the licensing fees for work found on our site.
If you find someone using your content without permission, taken from our site or any other site you are published on, it would be best to seek legal advice on copyright law and protection. There are a variety of sources of copyright law found on the Internet.
